Dear All Pets Rescue,

I adopted Solo on a cold spring night. This cute few months old kitten with the perfect eyeliner was not going to be solo anymore.

Solo's Happy Ending StoryAlthough he was afraid to come out of his carrier, he finally warmed up to me after a few days. He exhibited the loudest purring I ever heard when his belly was rubbed. Soon he started teasing my other cat (Bruttes), which ended mostly by cleaning each other to sleep.

But, Solo immortalized his reputation of being the fastest cat on earth. On a Tuesday morning (approx. 4:30) I heard a noise, which woke Max (my dog) and myself. Max dashed downstairs into the kitchen. I followed him (of course much slower). Max kept barking at the kitchen counter. I looked around but I couldn’t see anything (I thought he was trying to chase Bruttes, which he loves to do when he’s in a playful mood). So, I told Max to stop the barking. Of course, he didn’t stop. I went back upstairs to see where the felines were. Well, Bruttes was around but where was Solo? I searched the entire house. No Solo. Max was still barking. So, finally I stood on the counter and looked over the kitchen cabinets (because I knew that Bruttes loved to lay on them). No Solo. Now, I was definitely getting nervous. Solo is small, but not invisible. Anyhow, this time I stepped on the kitchen counter and tiptoed toward the corner cabinet and what did I see? A little tail sticking out! I laid flat on the counter and looked up through that corner. This cute and worried face looked at me. Gently, I tried to push Solo from above and pull him from below. But, he wasn’t budging at all, nor was he purring or meowing.

What should I do? Well, I called the police. First, they didn’t want to deal with it. When I told them that I really needed them and didn’t know whom else to contact they agreed to come by. While I was waiting and trying to keep all the pets calm, I heard a noise coming from the cabinet. Slowly, this corner cabinet "gave birth" to Solo. Watching him appearing from that opening was relieving but also funny. As soon as he touched the counter he raced back into safety. Solo, at left, with Bruttes

Solo is a special kitten. He is especially annoyed when people that he’s not accustomed to show up. He gives me this look like "what are they doing here?" I am still trying to take a picture of him when he stares like that. I have never seen a cat with such an obvious look of disapproval on its face. He is such a rich addition to my and my other pets’ lives. The cats get along just great.

Thank you so much for letting him into my family.
