Dear All Pets Rescue,
 It has been just about 3 weeks
since we brought Norbert into our home. We fell in love with him at his foster mom's
house...even making two trips to make sure his adjustment to our house went well (and to
ease our own waiting!!!!).
Norbie came to us straight from the vets and so was a very sleepy pup on the way home, but
it only took him a few hours that night before he was up and running. He is quite an
affectionate pup...he loves to give kisses, jump into your lap and his favorite, sleep at
your feet. Norbert has two moods at the moment, lazy-loving and hyper-loving!! Right
now he is in the puppy biting phase but does well when we re-direct him. Norbie loves to
go on walks, particularly if we run into a group of kids...he loves the attention!!! He is
still not too happy about road trips, but we are trying everything to make them a good
experience for him. As our companion, he goes everywhere with us!
Norbert is slowly making friends with our two cats, Lucy and Delia. Unfortunately his way
of making friends does not go over too well with the cats...he stole their toys, ate their
food, drank their water and chases them like they are one of his pack. The girls are
getting used to his play barking and even have the nerve to sniff and lick at him a bit.
Already Norbie has learned "sit" and
"come" and is mostly housebroken. He knows how happy it makes us when he potties
outside and so makes sure to squat in front of us everytime!! We are taking him to
obedience school next month and hope he will learn as quickly there as he does at home
with us. We think he is the best dog ever...but we may be partial.
Adopting from All Pets Rescue has been a fabulous experience for us. We are now
evangelicals for the cause telling everyone who stops to tell us what a cute puppy he is
(and there are tons of folk who do that!) where to go for their next pet! We are so happy
to have Norbert in our lives and thank you for all the great work you do. We hope in time
we too will be able to help foster dogs in our own home.
We have a growth chart on our door for Norbie and will keep you updated with new photos as
he grows up!
