Dear All Pets Rescue,
Thought that you might want to know that Dillan is doing very well. He is a pretty amazing
dog and we all thoroughly enjoy him. He has adjusted to all the chaos that comes with two
young kids and their three cousins. In fact he gets this kind of smile on his face when
ever the kids go outside.
It turns out that he had torn the ligaments in both knees which is why he was somewhat
hyper and limped some of the time. Good news is that his hips are in fantastic shape
especially for a big dog his age! We have no idea when it happened (probably gradually
over time) as he tends to hide his pain very well. As you well know, it didn't stop him
from chasing his balls or running around. I am very impressed that he was a sociable as he
was.
He had the surgery right after Christmas. They did
both knees at the same time since this offers the best recovery. He is doing great and has
settled down quite a bit. He still loves the ball and plays all the time. I am convinced
that he is really three years old (based on his actions, playfulness etc). Every day we
appreciate him a little bit more (and spoil him a little bit more).
That is about it here. Hope that you are doing well.
Lynn
